“This is the finest release of the Arlewood Chardonnay to date. The 2006 has a focused palate, mineral accent, good citric acidity, powerful fruit and restrained oak handling to give the wine a framework with which to build and live in the bottle. A touch of grapefruit, lees and the lively acid makes this wine structurally tighter and finer than previous releases. It still has bags of luscious fruit and great length of flavour. It’s worth drinking now or keeping for 5 years or so. Buy a doz, and crack 2 a year?” (December 2009)
